On Sunday, June 29, 2025, the DeSoto Corner Theater transformed into a hub of wellness and empowerment as the Global Holistic Movement (GHM) hosted its 7th Annual Ultimate Holistic Festival. The second day of this two-day event was dedicated entirely to Men’s Health Day, drawing attendees from across North Texas to engage in a comprehensive exploration of holistic well-being tailored specifically for men.
Running from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the event featured a series of workshops, panel discussions, and interactive sessions focusing on alternative healthcare approaches, mental health awareness, nutrition, and preventive care strategies. The festival aimed to address the unique health challenges faced by men, particularly in underserved communities, by providing accessible resources and fostering open conversations about wellness.
A highlight of the day was the keynote address by Anthony “Tony” Reed, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the National Black Marathoners Association. Reed, a seasoned marathoner and advocate for health equity, shared insights from his extensive experience in promoting athletics and wellness since 2004. His talk emphasized the importance of physical activity and community engagement in achieving long-term health goals.
The festival also featured a diverse lineup of wellness professionals who led sessions on topics such as stress management, holistic nutrition, and the benefits of alternative therapies. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in interactive demonstrations, receive personalized health consultations, and explore a variety of wellness products and services offered by local vendors.
GHM’s commitment to inclusivity and education was evident throughout the event. The organization strives to empower families through knowledge of alternative medicine and holistic practices, recognizing the importance of diverse perspectives in health and wellness. By creating an inclusive space for learning and exploration, GHM aims to transform health narratives and ensure that all individuals have access to the information and support needed to make informed health choices.
In addition to the educational components, the festival provided a platform for community building and networking. Attendees were encouraged to connect with like-minded individuals, share experiences, and build supportive relationships centered around wellness. The event also included complimentary snacks and refreshments, as well as giveaways to enhance the overall experience.
The success of Men’s Health Day at the Ultimate Holistic Festival underscores the growing interest in holistic health approaches and the importance of addressing men’s health issues in a comprehensive and inclusive manner. By bringing together experts, community members, and wellness enthusiasts, the event fostered a collaborative environment aimed at promoting long-term health and well-being for men in the DeSoto area and beyond.
