Your fitness cycle is truly yours throughout the year. I find it much easier to stay in shape during the summer. You can walk or bike anywhere, and running doesn’t require layers of warm clothing or a ton of motivation. It takes a lot of courage to go a few miles outside your neighborhood during the winter. Also, unless you have a gym membership, it is difficult to use high-end equipment and weights.
I had to spend more time on my personal health as I had suffered from lower back pain and decreased flexibility for years. So, after months of physical therapy, it became clear that active stretching was critical to my health. Stretching not only increases flexibility, but also provides aerobic exercise and helps strengthen targeted muscles. Additionally, it can lead to a longer and ultimately more active lifespan. Best of all, it’s incredibly easy. All you need is a little time, space, and some equipment if needed. But as it turns out, stretching costs very little.
